Who are we?

At the Claude Penz Sports store, you will be professionally assisted in your choice of designer equipment, clothing and accessories by 7 trained and qualified team members, under the watchful eye of Sylvain, the manager.  

• 3 shop assistants are at your disposal to advise you on your choice of clothing, accessories and snow boots.
• 4 experienced skimen are available at all times to deal with hiring, buying and repairing your skis and snowboards, as well as keeping them in good condition.

History

The Claude Penz Sports store has been running for more than 3 generations so it’s a genuine family business – it’s the longest-standing ski and snowboard hire store in Saint Gervais.

The store was first opened by Claude Penz - the current store manager’s grandfather. Claude Penz is a former member of the French ski team, who won the French championship several times and the Kandahar slalom race in 1947. He competed in the 1948 Winter Olympics which took place in St. Moritz, then became a trainer and technical director at the Saint Gervais Ecole de Ski (French ski school). 

At present, keeping in line with tradition and with the vast experience acquired in this long family line of skiers is Sylvain, who currently manages the Claude Penz Sports store and who has also been a ski instructor since 1992.  French and foreign customers alike appreciate the expert knowledge that Sylvain is only too happy to share.

Opening dates and times during the 2010/2011 winter season

The Claude Penz Sports store opens on the 1st of December 2011 until the 30th of April 2012, from 8:15am until 6:30pm everyday of the season, with late-night opening until 7:00pm during the school holidays.  

The Saint Gervais ski area officially opens on the 10th of December 2011 and closes on the 22th of April 2012, so hurry and book your ski and snowboard equipment on line today.
